Meet the Desert Mermaid 

Hi, I’m Marissa. I’m the maker behind Desert Mermaid AZ, based in Cave Creek, Arizona. I create accessories inspired by the desert, the sea, and the place where those two worlds meet. Because yes, mermaids absolutely belong in the desert.

From Classroom to Creative Studio

Before Desert Mermaid AZ, I spent years working as a teacher, encouraging creativity and curiosity every day. Over time, I realized I needed a creative outlet of my own. Something hands-on, expressive, and a little magical. What started as a personal passion slowly grew into a brand rooted in imagination, texture, and self-expression.

Materials matter to me. I’m drawn to pieces that feel good in your hands and hold up over time. My work often includes natural stones, hand-painted elements, stained glass, and unexpected materials chosen for their texture, color, and character. I care about how things are made, how they look up close, and how they feel once they become part of your everyday life. Everything is designed to feel thoughtful, playful, and intentional.
